In the case of MySQL, I don't think either would help much (granted=20 this is only intuitive thinking and I'd love to be proven wrong!) ...=20 since MySQL (and databases in general) is disk I/O intensive, to get a=20= win by moving even thread processes to allow MySQL to scale, you'd need=20= a network mesh with a higher performance than the disk I/O channel or=20 possibly something like Oracle's RAC which can utilize a SAN. Even RAC=20= clusters don't migrate processes, they migrate/steer requests instead. In general, I think it'd be a Good Thing [tm] to be able to migrate a=20 threaded process. The real catch is knowing which threaded processes=20 to allow to migrate. :-) I can see something like this being a benefit=20= to an Apache2 installation, for instance.
