Dear All.

Happy 2007 everyone!

Has anyone successfully run OpenSSI 1.9.2 on a hardware with a SATA HDD?

I have succesfully installed the OpenSSI but once I reboot the system, it halts with the following messages

mkrootdev: uuid .... not found
mount special device /dev/root does not exist
ERROR: mounting root file system failed.
Unable to continue. halting.
RTNL: asserting failed at net/ipv4/devinet.c (944)

System halted.

It looks like the ata_piix.ko module included in the OpenSSI kernel package is quite old. (in comparison to the one found in the orignal OS - CentOS 4.4 with kernel 2.6.9) I tried recompiling the module with newer driver sources, but it hasn't been successful. There simply are too many files that I have to change, and I am no expert at tuning H/W drivers...

If someone is running OpenSSI on a SATA HDD, are there anything special you have done?
Any tips and advices will be appreciated!

Thank you in advance,

Taeho
