Had a "good" implementation of SM 1.4.8 (RHEL).

January 23, 2007, Yum pulled SM 1.4.8-4.fc5-noarch and the spam_button's plug-in "broke".

Couldn't fix it (i.e. setup.php change in plugin f(x) or hooks ??).

Overlaid 1.4.9a, this environment works good but spam_buttons still not visible:

### Binaries ###
Dovecot (1.0.0beta8.3) IMAP server
Compatibility 1.3 (at one point 2.x too).
Perl v. 5.8.8.
PHP v. 5.1.6.
Apache 2.2.2
SM (1.4.8-4.fc5 & 1.4.9a)

###

Thank you

Spam Buttons used to require a source patch. When you updated SM, you probably lost the patch and need to re-run the patch that comes with the plugin (refer to its INSTALL file). However, the very newest versions of SM (1.4.11+) (not sure about the third party packages of SM) no longer need any patch at all. Note that you should contact the plugins mailing list or plugin authors for support on third party plugins.
