If you're looking at spam/virus/bad content filtering, I'd most
do it at the SMTP level with something such as SpamAssassin. You could
also look at various other server side filters to handle it but they'd
probably require a more constant maintenance. Client side filters in
SquirrelMail will also be incredibly inefficient, and will drawn an
excessive load on your servers, even with a moderate level of users, due
to the processing required to do the filtering.
