Hello Everyone, Well, it seems that my NewMail plugin is still alive and well, although it now has a new body :) It's been a while since I last worked on it (waaaaay back at version 1.1) and I've recently had a number of e-mails coming in regarding this soupNazi function being called in it, and breaking user's installs. Well, when I wrote NewMail, this never existed. Now, it seems it's made it into the add-in. I belive most of the problems are stemming from people downloading the newer plugin, but using an older distro (correct me if I am wrong). I just CVS updated to the latest version (haven't done that for about a year now) and found that, at least, NewMail is working there. Oh, and I like the new SM updates, too :) Could someone at least elaborate a bit as to what in the world soupNazi is doing? I don't wan't someone thinking I've got it out for them (no soup for you!). Just trying to get a handle on my ol' "baby" (my first php app). Thanks! -- Michael Huttinger Systems Engineer IPACT |

It checks which browsers don't support javascript (or do so very poorly) and doesn't invoke the plugin for the ones that match the list, hence the function name. I guess someone decided to link directly from NewMail to SquirrelSpell to do the same thing, so now when SquirrelSpell is not one of the plugins, it breaks. More or less, just that the function now is stored at an upper level so it is not needed to have both running. So yes, the problem may be that someone's using latest newmail with older SM. Oh, > and I like the new SM updates, too :) I am using the newest version of Squirrelmail, and the newmail plugin is breaking due to the soupnazi... :) I downloaded the newmail plugin from the squirrelmail plugin page so... I am not sure if I got the newest release... did I? I don't know what soupnazi is doing either but, the plugin is breaking when I click on "options" - does that help? |
