allow me to give an example of just one problm that's occurring : if i want to spell-check the following text "The reprot i need on Wesnesday is an urgent reprot for Wesnesday" .... here we see that there are 4 spelling mistakes; 2 for 'reprot' and two for 'wesnesday'...now when the spell_check.js first runs, the display comes up correctly with the first mistake (i.e. 'reprot') highlighted. When i click on 'Change', the mistake gets rectified and the updated text shows up (i.e. "The report i need on Wesnesday is an urgent *reprot* for Wesnesday ")...here we see that the second mistake (which was 'Wesnesday' has been skipped and the highlighted word is the second instance of 'reprot', which would be not be an error if the code came back to 'Wesnesday' later on , which is not happening, it just skips 'Wesnesday' and forgets about it... Anyway, moving on, now when i click on 'Change' again, the second instance of 'reprot' is rectified, and now here's the major problem i'm experiencing, the updated text is displayed again, and this time, the text reads as '"The reprot i need on Wesnesday is an urgent reprot for *reprot*day" Here u can see that it's overwritten Wesnesday with the "*reprot*....it looks like the code is not incrementing the "CurrentError" variable correctly...and this is causing a few problems... I must admit even i thought that , since i'm experiencing so many problems, i would find a lot of posts online by people experiencing the same problem, but i cant seem to find anyone else who's had the same problems, so i guess i'm doing something wrong, but i dont see what, since i haven;t modified the check_me.js file at all.... Any help would be appreciated.... -----Original Message----- From: Konstantin Riabitsev To: Vipin Hegde Cc: ''squ...@li...' This code is being used by thousands of people and I haven't had a bug report about it not working since probably mid-2000. I have trouble believing that there would be such severe problems with it all of a sudden. I will check it out with IE later today, but... -- 0> Konstantin ("Icon") Riabitsev / ) Duke Physics Systems Admin, RHCE ~ www.duke.edu/~icon/pubkey.asc |
