I would definately think so too, but from the server running squirrelmail I can ping any internet address and browse the web fine. I can to nslookups, whois's, anything ... works completely fine. even on addresses I have never been to. what does mail_fetch use to pop it's mail? what does squirrel_logger use to look up hostnames? I really would think it was my problem too, but outside of squirellmail I can't find any problems. thanks, Matt ----Original Message Follows---- From: "Jon Tai" <jo...@tg...> To: <syn...@ho...> CC: <squ...@li...> Subject: Re: [SM-USERS] SM can't use DNS names all of a sudden? pls help! Date: Fri, 1 Mar 2002 10:10:50 -0800 (PST) I really doubt this has to do with SquirrelMail; it is most certainly a DNS issue. Check (and re-check) that _ALL_ your DNS servers (primary and secondaries) are functioning and are accessible by both the web server and the mail servers (IMAP and SMTP). Did any ACLs on firewalls or the DNS servers themselves change? - Jon > All of a sudden today squirrelmail cant seem to find servers by their > DNS names. > > For example, I use squirrelmail_logger to log login and logouts.
