Thanks. How can I disable it from the backend since the user is not able to login on to squirrelmail to reverse any filtering or spam enabling at the frontend. In other words, is there any special command that will help me disable the spam or filtering options.

Filters plugin can cause some issues, especially if the user sets some
options, such as scanning all messages every time, or enabling the
spam filtering options (which does DNS lookups on every message).

SquirrelMail doesn't have scheduled maintenance, or anything built in,
that'd make it just stop working on a saturday at a certain time.  So
look on your system, and figure out what else is going on.
