Thanks for your help so far.  We're still having the problem.  I have now
deduced that it only seems to happen to users of IE 5.0.  Specifically, they
are NOT able to log back in after they are kicked out.
Because people use the webmail from random web terminals, it's not always
possible for them to upgrade.
Also, there doesn't seem to be any error in Apache.
