Hi Steve, I'm pretty new myself but I was intending to do the same, I've got SM running on the same server as mail/web at the moment but I can see no reason why it won't work to a remote server. In the config you can either have localhost or specify a dns name/port for IMAP. The remote server will have to perform the user/password authentication or you won't get any mail. See below, Server Settings 1. Domain : mydomain.com 2. IMAP Server : localhost <<< 3. IMAP Port : 143 <<< 4. Use Sendmail/SMTP : SMTP 6. SMTP Server : localhost 7. SMTP Port : 25 8. Authenticated SMTP : false 9. POP Before SMTP : false 10. Server : cyrus 11. Invert Time : false 12. Delimiter : detect Martin -----Original Message----- From: squ...@li... I've tried to search the archives for two days now and it says they are temporarily unavailable. I've also Googled, searched the SM web site, and searched the doc files with the SM RPM (RH 8.0 in this case) for answers, but I'm missing it if the answer is there. I'm at crunch time on deciding whether to implement SM. Environment: RH 7.2 on two servers. One running corporate mail on RH standard Sendmail & IMAP (UW). The other server running Apache, on which SM would reside. Question: Can SM authorize logon from IMAP (or whatever) on the separate mail server? Or do I have to duplicate users on both machines? Currently, mail users are set up on the dedicated mail server, but I have virtually no users on the web server box. Surely, this should be an FAQ, but I can't seem to find an answer. Can someone point me in the right direction, please?
