This is my attempt to reopen feature request 765909. I
would like to suggest adding options that control how
the address book is displayed. In the SM installation
I use at my ISP (version 1.4.5), the rows are sorted
by the *first* name of each entry. For me, this means
that all the "Jacks," then the "Jills," and so on are
grouped together. I guess I'm wired to look for people
by last name, since that's the convention in most
places, and that is kind of a pain in a list that's
sorted on first name. I suggest it should be possible
to sort on nick name, first name (current behavior),
last name, email address, or the "additional info"
field. This modest change would be a huge improvement
in the usability of the address book. Thanks for
listening, I hope you'll consider this request.
