Apache 1.3.x, PHP 4.4.4, Courier-IMAP 4.1.1 on FreeBSD 5.4, SQMail 1.4.9 from CVS, updated at ~0:00 ET 11/19/2006.

Via SQMail, I've sent myself a very simple text file generated by the following perl script:

$ perl -e 'foreach my $i (1..300000) { print "line $i\n"; }' > foo

The message arrives in my inbox just fine. Upon trying to download the file, it gets corrupted after between 6000 and 9000 lines. The corruption is a SQMail error message caused by the 'sqimap_fread' function reading an empty string mid-way through the IMAP channel.

Using netcat, I verified that the Courier-IMAP server was in fact returning a valid file. This is consistent with my experience using other IMAP clients like Thunderbird to successfully grab attachments.

I started noticing this after an upgrade from 4.3.x to 4.4.4 ... but I admit to being a little fuzzy on those details.

Are there more details that would be helpful? I am happy to try patches or adjustments to my php.ini, just let me know.

Thanks for your help!

    After upgrading my IMAP server, the problem disappeared. I can only guess that it was something specific to my old setup.

    With the information you submitted our best guess is that your problem is a
