No

The script you ditribute with
squirrel-sql-1.0final2-install.jar
does not work properly:
it has DOS line breaks (\r\n), which breaks the shell
identification line (#!/bin/sh), assumes that it will
be started from the SquirrelSQL directory, and assumes
that $JAVA_HOME is defined.
I've attached a fixed one, tested under Linux
GNU bash, version 2.05.8(1)

    Sergio,

Thansk for the patch. The just released 1.1beta2 has Unix
line breaks instead of DOS. The rest of your patch I'll be
applying when I get my Linux machine, hopefully in the next
couple of weeks. Theres a couple of other changes I want to
make at the same time and I'm nervous making them when I
don't have access to a Linux machine for testing.

    Sergio,

I've just applied your patch with the exception of the hard
coding of the squirrel application directory. As Squirrel
can be installed into any directory the user chooses we
can't hard code the directory in the script.

This will be available in the next beta 1.1beta3 which is
due out within the next week.

    Thanks
    Col

I've reopened this as the Unix shell script still isn't executable in 1.1beta3. It
appears (although I haven't investiaged fully) that the installer doesn't
honour the executable bit on a script. I'm a couple of versions behind on the
installer so I'll upgrade for the next release.

Just updated to a new version of the IzPack installer (3.0)
which allows me to specfiy files as executable un Linux. The
next release will fix this problem.
