Hi Francisco, thanks for your interest in the Hibernate Plugin. What the Plugin can do at the moment is: - Generate and display SQL statements from HQL statements - Automatically execute those SQL statements - Code completion for HQL - Syntax highlighting for HQL @Rob: I think these features are enough to let people have a first glance at it. You may include the Plugin in the weekly snapshot. I used a different starting point here. I didn't want to make any assumption on how the Hibernate SessionFactory is created. So I let the user define a classpath and let him provide a 'user defined factory' for Hibernate's SessionFactory (see SQuirreL's global preferences and help files for the Plugin). Rob's (good!) idea was to provide some default implementations this factory when he ran into the classpath problems he mentions in his mail. I have some hope that these could be solved when reflection is used throughly for all that has to be done to create a Hibernate SessionFactory. If it worked default factories for both, hbm files as well as annotations should be possible. > It looks relly similar to SQuirrell-Sql, so I was thinking about perhaps > integrating it with SQuirrell-Sql, but I remember reading somewhere > that someone was building a plugin for Hibernate in SQuirrell-Sql... Yes I do! :-) I'd also appreciate if you would like to add features. Next thing I want to do is to add a Tree of the mapped objects. Another nice thing would be to be able to display HQL results in an Object view. What do you think should/could be done? I'd love to help... Thanks a lot. :-) Gerd |
