I noticed the icon on mac os .app bundle file looked kind of like a low resolution or small size image icon that is scaled to a much larger size as needed to display in the applications window on the system dock (see attached screenshot of existing icon).

for now, I have taken the acorn image from http://www.freakingnews.com/Acorn-Pictures----3210-3.asp and adjusted it to the same angle and created this .icns file attached. it seems to satisfy my aesthetic

but, I would be happy to use the icon editor to generate a new .icns file with higher resolution images if there would be other artwork you would prefer to use too.

well nuts, i tried to attach the .png and the .icns file i created, but the max file attachment size seems to be 256k, and these are about 360 and 389k respectively.

I guess contact me if you'd like me to email them or some other mechanism to get them to you.

    Hi Travis,

Sorry about the file size limitations here - SourceForge controls that. However, if you email them to me (manningr@users.sourceforge.net), I would be happy to incorporate them into the installer. We've had that graphic for a loooong time. If you are artistically-inclined we are certainly open to considering contributions in this area.

Oh yeah, that email address is just an alias for my GMail account, so I don't think the filesize will be a problem - but let me know if it is and I will send you my GMail address. Sorry about the secrecy in this forum; don't get me wrong, GMail is great at killing spam, but I don't want to press my luck :)

I received the icns file from Travis via email since it is slightly larger (376KB) than SF's max attach file size (255KB). I also had Travis verify that this image could be used royalty-free. He contacted the website that hosted the image and their response was as follows:

    --- reply from freakingnews ---

    Hello,
You don't need our permission to use the image since you just want to use the original image from the photographer, not the derivate photoshop works we did.
you can contact the author photographer through this page:
    http://www.sxc.hu/profile/geoX
However, even if you dont get a response, the image was released by him via the creative commons licence so you are free to use it.

    Thanks,
