This is an important enhancement for all business users. All unprintable characters in any database column need to be displayed with some dummy character so that we users know that they are present. MS Access uses a lozenge, dec 127, hex 7F. I think this character is commonly used for this purpose. I'm seeing the absence of this character when viewing a DB2 zOS table. So this may be a problem with the JDBC communication.
