For the purposes of automation it would be useful to have a command line interface to DBCopy
So that you could for instance run:
squirrel-sql dbcopy <database1> <database2> <table1> <table2>
and embed this in scripts.
Actually I should state the business requirement rather than a particular solution.
I want to be able to automate copying of tables or even entire databases. This doesn't necessarily have to be via a command line Interface but that is probably the simplest solution.
I should also not that one reason for making this request was that when I attempted to copy an entire database from Oracle to MySQL there were problems with some tables. A script copying one table at a time might be more successful, leaving me to adjust options and recopy just those that failed. The use case there is database migration. However, I am also looking at setting up test data for which it might be more appropriate to use a tool like dbunit for automation but perhaps squirrel or a command line dbcopy for experimentation.
