Since Squirrel already builds a map of the tables and
columns, it would be nice if it allowed tab completion
in the SQL window for the names.
I guess this should go in the JEdit plugin.

Since one often wants to format the sql for readibility using
tabs this might not work. maybe some other way such as the
code completion feature in IDEs where a dropdown goes right
under the word being typed with a list of all possibilities

I've actually got 2 patches for completion. Both require
changes to the core in order to make them work outside of
the jEdit plugin. I'll be merging the two patches (each has
functionality that the other doesn't) into a new completion
plugin during the 1.2 beta series.
It won't be 'tab' completion, probably <CTRL><ENTER>.
Of course <CTRL><ENTER> was meant to be <CTRL><SPACE>.
My db in the schema I usually work with has close to a 1000
tables. When I had the JEdit plugin and i typed shema. my
machine used to freeze for a few seconds as it decided on a
color. I assume that this was due to my large list of
tables. will performance be an issue here?
Sorry for sounding trite but performance is always an issue :-)
It'll be possible to turn it on and off, possibly
configurable by alias. We'll certainly look at performance.
The SQL Entry Completion has been released
Currently it doesn't allow for turning it off/on. Could you
let me know what performance is like for you.
