Is this source any different than what I'd get from updating my svn
PS: I pointed out a few errors (with corrections) in the website docs a
few weeks back. How do we go about getting those updated?

No. The tarballis just for those who do not want to install Subversion.
(It used to be slightly different because I maintaind a small separate
patch for Postgres 7.2 - I was using Debian GNU/Linux 3.0; but recently I
finished upgarding all my desktops and server to Debian 3.1 and hence
Postgres 7.4, so now I don't need any additional patches.)
