Aha! Further investigation showed that the second host was dropping all connections from outside of localhost, and that the problem had nothing to do with SQLObject. Whoops.

  must work. I do not understand why the second connection lost. Can you
write a short test script that demonstrate the problem, so I can
investigate it?
