I am using the compiled Windows version on XP SP3, and have installed the Database Browser in a directory off the C: root. When I change the directory in preferences, it seems to change, but is greyed out and reverts to the original Docs and Settings area.
When I try to import a csv file into a database in this directory, nothing appears to happen, but when I look at file activity using Sysinternals Process Monitor, I see a huge amount of activity looking and failing to find files all over the place. I assume the two problems are linked.
Do I have to run the program from a specific directory?

  • I get the same problem.  Is there a workaround?

I've found no workaround, but I've not done much more with this, as I've been bogged down failing to solve a Win 7 audio problem  so I had to temporarily stop all work on databases.
