My Spyce-based webapps have been successful enough that I have been asked to move them to their own machine in a particular subnet that is more approiate for the work I am doing. I am using Spyce in webserver mode and previously had been simple booting it up by hand from my personal account and running it on port 8000. Now that I have my own machine (including root priviledges), I have gone ahead and set up the server to be launched by root so that it can commandeer port 80. That works fine, but several of my webapps are now stymied unless I do some setuid magic (which I have done by adding these calls to various .spy files.) Rather than scattering setuid calls all over the place, is there a better way to set things up for this scenario? Rock |
