I also used it for a time. I used it to preprocess web pages before loading them to the server. I really liked it and have not seen anything better, but I would not use it for mission critical work since I do not trust it to work with new technologies. If I used it I feel I would need to commit to supporting it myself, and there are other tools, that are not as good, but can do the job, and are supported.

I did have it in production for a short time, serving web pages with dynamic content on the SQLalchemy, but I stood it down about four years ago, however, it did a great job of supporting some web sites for quizzes and a few shopping sites, and served their purposes fairly well.

Just stumbled across Spyce recently and absolutely loved it.  But sadly for me, I see that there's next to no activity happening around it lately.
