Sport tracker starts but screen is not loaded, i.e. blank gray window. version 4.1.1 ubuntu easypeasy with jolicloud.
tried clearing the data folder .sporttracker, asks for new sports type, but same happens.
Sounds like a bug in the Java runtime you're using. I need further infos for verification:
- Which version of Java do you have (start 'java -version')?
- When does it happen? Even on the first start?
- Is there some output when you're starting ST from the command line?
- Please attach a screenshot.
java version "1.6.0_16"
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_16-b01)
Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 14.2-b01, mixed mode, sharing)
It happen when it is trying to load the calendar. I tried to remove all data files (xml) from folder and restart, still happens. Occasionally it loads successfully.
I am using the jnlp version, can i use the command line?
If you really need a screenshot i can provide it, however it will show a blank window. (gray in my case, not sure this is standard)
thanks for your reply
I need to know which JDK type you're using - OpenJDK or the Sun JDK?
What's the output of "dpkg -l | grep jdk" ?
The start of ST from the commandline is described in the docs/ReadMe.txt when you're downloading the binary ZIP archive, the installation is very easy. It's important to get the console output of this error, otherwise I can't do anything ...
Hi Stefan, that command did not produce any output. so i tried to grep jre : sun-java6-jre
Do I need to download and install ST to help you out identifying this problem? I would like to keep using the jnlp,, however if this is necessary, tell me and I will download it.
yes, you need to download the binary ZIP archive and install the application. This is very easy and documented. Otherwise we can't see the console output when the error occurs...
I did not manage to load the java console as yet, tried from within sun java 6 plugin control plugin, which loads a java console but yet, both st and jc stay in a gray screen mode.
I don't mean the java console - I'm talking about the linux command line. You just need to extract the binary archive of SportsTracker and then start inside the ST directory "java -jar SportsTracker.jar".
I need the console output when the error occurs, Otherwise I can't help you and I need to close this bug issue.
Sorry, I need to close this bug, the required informations are not sufficient.
Anyway, it looks like a Java virtual machine problem on this device and not like an application bug.
