I've looked at all the downloads and there's nothing here I like... :-) Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all the SpeedDreams team. I've left my build machine in Calgary so no coding for me until the new year, hopefully the local ski-hill will get a dose of snow so we can go skiing. I'll also try to find some documenation time and would like to get the 'manual' in better shape. Out of the bugs on: https://sourceforge.net/apps/trac/speed-dreams/report/9 What's considered a 'stopper' preventing us going to another Beta or even a RC? I'd really like to test out the current code on a decent machine (read work laptop), but that needs someone to build the Win32 binaries for me.... Simon. |

Hi, everyone. > Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all the SpeedDreams team. You too Simon, thanks :-) Enjoy all ! > I've looked at all the downloads and there's nothing here I like... :-) > Out of the bugs on: > https://sourceforge.net/apps/trac/speed-dreams/report/9 > > What's considered a 'stopper' preventing us going to another Beta or even > a RC? > > I'd really like to test out the current code on a decent machine (read > work laptop), but that needs someone to build the Win32 binaries for > me.... Didn't have time to look at it recently. Only complaining to myself that we've been failing - for monthes now - at knowing precisely where we _all_ are about out tasks for 2.0 ... Couldn't we try again ? quite easy and quick for everyone : no more than 5 mn to tell what's left to do for 2.0 (separating between mandatory and planned things, and the optional remainder, please). > I've left my build machine in Calgary so no coding for me until the new > year, hopefully the local ski-hill will get a dose of snow so we can go > skiing. Nice program, eager to see it :-) For the coming 10 days, I will be away from home, with a laptop and an up-and-building sandbox, but no Internet connexion (or only few opportunities). Probably working at fixing more bugs, and tweaking the cmake configuration for out-of-source builds, in-place/no-install execution and rpm-lint conformance. Cheers, Jean-Philippe. |

Hi all, Merry Christmas from here Berlin (Germnay) too the hole SD team. I will take the time to finish my last 3 tasks: - Salty (nearly done!) - SC FMC - Menu and menu backgrounds Cheers Eckhard. The lens flare #433 is a pain.... especially if it 'picks' a opaque one. The report of the gamepad/steering sensitivity worries me a little, but I'm pretty convinced this is a specific to one user. I think we need to fix the menu quirks, but the various glitches in the track graphics could slip by. I would like the camera positioning to be more consistant across the range of cars (ie. driver view, hood view, etc). Bounding boxes are off on some cars and easy to fix. On the whole I think we're very close to want could/should be 2.0. Once that's out of the way we have a whole load of stuff to start for 3.0 :-) Simon. |

> What's considered a 'stopper' preventing us going to another Beta or even > a RC? Since we've tracked down the cause of the memory leak, are we now in a position for a RC???? It might seem like I'm getting 'pushy', but with a few new faces on the community board it seems especially important that we clean out the last few glitches and push out SD2.0. Given that we don't want to introduce bugs in at this 'late' stage, we probably want to be picky about what gets checked in. It would be a real shame to limit people's new ideas, once SD2.0 is out we can 'go to town' with all the new ideas. Simon. PS. I checked in the new MP5 previews last night... let me know if there are any problems. |

It would be a real > shame to limit people's new ideas, once SD2.0 is out we can 'go to town' > with all the new ideas. +1. Now, this morning, I've just asked through personal mails to everyone (no, only those for which I don't know yet) to tell me about what they have in mind for 2.0, as "mandatory" tasks for 2.0 on the one hand, and as "optional" tasks on the other hand (if time, while waiting ...). I mean : about _their_ tasks, the ones they have started but not finished yet (AFAIK). Not time to start new ones. Remember we've been in the Beta stage for months. Let's take a few days (hurry up guys !) for collecting most of this and build the last last last straight task list. I've already received some answers, but not all of them ... ;-) I expect to be able (enough time) to produce a RC(1) release next week-end (unfortunately not today or tomorrow). In this week-time, would be good if everyone was on the deck for testing and testing again, not only about his own subjects, but also about all the others' ones ! Let's go now :-) Cheers, Jean-Philippe. |
