#332: T07: new physics for MP5 ---------------------+------------------------------------------------------ Reporter: kakukri | Owner: kakukri Type: task | Status: accepted Priority: major | Milestone: 2.0.0 Component: Cars | Version: 2.0.0-dev Keywords: | ---------------------+------------------------------------------------------ Changes (by kakukri): * status: new => accepted * component: User interface => Cars * version: 1.4.0 => 2.0.0-dev * milestone: => 2.0.0 * owner: somebody => kakukri * type: defect => task Comment: First try in r3329. The parameters are based on the 2010 British Formula Ford 1600 (Duratec) rulebook. A default setup and a new class file with revised boundaries were committed. The car is underpowered, so everything happens slower, like in an ideal trainer class. The setup ha quite stable back end, increasing the rear ride height by ~5 millimeters makes it much wider if one prefers it. Please test and report back. Sebastian found some reference times earlier: 1:33.790 around Laguna Seca and 1:29.958 around Brands Hatch. With the current car I could do 1:39.37 around Corkscrew and 1:45.01 around Brondehach, so it is bit slower. I think the power, weight and drag (calculated from top speed) is quite accurate, so mainly increasing grip comes as a solution, if you do not think it will make the car too easy. Please express your opinions. -- Ticket URL: <http://sourceforge.net/apps/trac/speed-dreams/ticket/332#comment:1> Speed Dreams <http://sourceforge.net/projects/speed-dreams> An Open Motorsport Simulator forked from Torcs in order to deliver a better user experience through nicer and more consistent car sets, visually improved tracks and enhanced physics realism. |
