i'm searching the form to optimize the search in a database, I'm using SQL Server but my database is too large and it takes a long time to perform the search, there any way to make this process faster

Some ideas... Use C#, not java. Cache the templates in memory. If you have multiple fingerprints per person, search initially only one fingerprint per person. Use faster processor with more cores. Narrow the search to a subset of the database, e.g. by gender, region, or age group. Parallelize search over reasonable number of machines. Rent many cheap machines from cloud provider if that gives you more performance per dollar.
I am running out of ideas. If you do all that and it's still slow, buy a commercial AFIS or pay me to spend the time to make SourceAFIS faster (happy to do that, BTW).

I have no idea which variable are you talking about. Where do you see it? What are you trying to accomplish?
