#197 Failed to launch after download

I downloaded and installed the 0.34 version successfully
but it failed to launch/start. I got the following error
messages:

C:\Program Files\Sodipodi\sodipodi.exe
A device attached to the system is not functioning.

and,

Error Starting Program!
The INTL.DLL file is linked to missing export
ICONV.DLL:libiconv_set_relocation_prefix.

I have:

Windows 98, Pentium 2, 384MB RAM, 6GB free disk
space.
Gtk-Runtime-Environment-2.2.4.1.exe

I then removed these programs and installed the 0.33
version but the same happened. It's probably something
to do with the Gtk RE.

Good luck

You probably have multiple copies of iconv.dll in
%WINDIR%\system32 or somewhere else in PATH. Try to remove
them, or exclude the directories from PATH if you can't do this.

    Thanks for the reply.

    Couldn't find a copy of iconv.dll in c:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32,
but I did find a copy in each of the following directories:

    1. C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM
    2. C:\Program Files\Common Files\GTK\2.0\lib
    3. C:\unzipped\php-4.3.0-Win32\dlls
    4. C:\Php\dlls

Which files do you suggest I remove?
    What would happen if I removed iconv.dll from 1 and/or 4?

I also opened the Autoexec.bat file and checked the PATH
but couldn't find a mention of any of the above directories, or
    of Sodipodi or Gtk.
Am I checking the correct PATH?

Remove the one from C:\windows\system. It shouldn't have
been there in the first place btw, so whatever software did
put it there has to be considered harmful.

    2. is the standard location of gtk2 dlls on win32, and 4. is
most likely needed by PHP. But as GTK based programs and PHP
normally only add these diretories to PATH when they are run
    - and only form themselves - these files can't create conflicts.

I removed the iconv.dll file from the C:\windows\system, as
you recommended, and I have now launched Sodipodi.

    Thanks for your help.
