Hi

I have been accessing my maxtor NAS over samba using smbnetfs. As a part of an archiving md5 test, I ran into trouble.

When I access using smbnetfs, I have two problems.
1) "cp" works fine, but 'md5sum' and 'cat' sometimes just shows that a file is empty (even though it is not).
2) When I am done copying (using 'cp') from my NAS to my server, I check the md5 sum and it is often wrong. Copying the same file multiple times yields the exact same (wrong) md5 sum.

No errors seems to be reported.

Mounting the samba share using 'mount -t cifs xxx' work and gives the correct md5s.

What to do?
What other information can I supply?

regards
mobo
