That's nice news! I'm betting on the cable being the problem.

Adding the -o option isn't what made the difference -- I am sure of this.
My advice is to leave it alone now that it's working.
Even changing the cable back might not tell you for sure. It might have
just been bent or twisted in a strange way and not made good contact.
