We've got some problems with our new server(uses SW-RAID1) which has been notably slower than our older server which even has more data stored in it. For example simple commands such as find might take ages to complete and removing a bit larger folder with rm hicks up the server completely.
I ran a test with smartmontools with our both hdd's(sda and sdb) and the sdb results made me wonder. You can see the result in this link: http://pastebin.org/18347
About 3 days after the disc was last turned on, an error occurred. Could this disc be faulty and responsible for the very slow reading/writing speeds in the system. It's weird but when we tested the reading speed with a testing program, all the results were normal.
