Hello all,

I am exhausted from all the searching and wish that someone would just point me to a site that lists all of the messages that one might see from smartmon tools.

I work in a Datacenter and have this client that repeatedly requests that we replace hard drives because he thinks that a drive is going bad due to these errors:

 S.M.A.R.T Errors on /dev/hda
From Command: /usr/sbin/smartctl -q errorsonly -H -l selftest -l error /dev/hda
ATA Error Count: 38 (device log contains only the most recent five errors)
Error 38 occurred at disk power-on lifetime: 311 hours (12 days + 23 hours)
Error 37 occurred at disk power-on lifetime: 311 hours (12 days + 23 hours)
Error 36 occurred at disk power-on lifetime: 311 hours (12 days + 23 hours)
Error 35 occurred at disk power-on lifetime: 311 hours (12 days + 23 hours)
Error 34 occurred at disk power-on lifetime: 311 hours (12 days + 23 hours)
----END /dev/hda--

Can someone please just tell me if these messages are purely informational or if they are to be taken seriously.  Secondly, is there a way to disable those specific power-On Lifetime messages from happening.

Thanks,
