Hello,

I have an older server with 2 x ST31000528AS Seagate drives. We just added a Megaraid MR9260-4i and preparing for a reinstall.

Previously I tested without RAID card if I can set the ERC for these HDD's.

I was able to set the ERC to 7 seconds. The setting stayed until the server was power off (at a reboot the setting was not changed). Is this normal ?

And the smartctl/ERC question. After I added the HDD's under Megaraid I am not able to set again the ERC.

The output suggests the problem is related to Megaraid controller firmware. However, I am not very familiar with ERC on smartctl, is this issue supposed to be because of controller, I can do anything to have the problem fixed (beside trying eventually a firmware update as suggested) ?
