I mean: I believe these devices really do not support devstat. What data do you want to see with devstat? I looked into example (http://sourceforge.net/apps/trac/smartmontools/attachment/ticket/106/Ticket106-sample.txt) and did not see any helpful data which I can not see with smartctl -A.

What do you mean under "statistics"? What data do you want to see?

I have been trying to work out how to capture device statistics for SSD’s. From what I can gather the correct command is “smartctl -q noserial -i –l > devstat,0 -l devstat /dev/sda” but this command returns that device statistics are not supported. I have been using version 5.42 of Smartmontools and have tried to obtain device statistics for an X25-M G2, an SF1xxx and an 830. Hopefully I will soon be able to try with an Intel 520. Do these drives not support device statistics or am I doing something incorrectly?

Thank you very much in advance for any help you may be able to provide.
