Hi,

after carefully reading the press release of Areca (http://www.areca.com.tw/news/2008/n091208.htm), it seems, the support is only for their SATA Controllers and NOT their SAS Controllers. Can anybody confirm or disprove this thesis?

Fabi

Hi,

i tried every number that is permitted (/dev/sg2: Option -d areca,N
(N=25) must have 1 <= N <= 24), but i got the same error.

Hm ...

Currently I have no Areca in Linux, so I can't try it now. But if I
remember correctly, the N in -d areca,N is the enclosure number, not
the slot number. If it is true, then your first disc is "-d areca,10"
not areca,1.

Try it. Even in the case I remembered it incorrectly, it take
insignificant amount of time.
