Hello,

Can one of you SmartMonTools gurus help me interpret these results.  The smart data does not seem to correlate with the test tool.  The -P parameter returns no extended attribute decodes.

We have a load of Seagate ST380013AS, ST30023AS,  & ST380817AS drives that return similar results.  I have inserted the output from the same drive from before and after running SEATOOLS to correct about 250 bad sectors.  Some were reported as not being corrected.  If the SMART system really had that many pending bad sectors, shouldn't I see an appropriate # in Current_Pending_Sector or Offline_Uncorrectable counts before, and in the Reallocated_Sector_Ct afterwards?

Remarkably, the SMART system sometimes returns a good status to the BIOS, othertimes I get the SMART disk is bad, replace it, press F4 error.  Rebooting returns a good status again.

I'm stumped.  I would like a clear idea of what these numbers actually represent so I can make intelligent diagnosis of the other 1850+ drives running in our systems.
