As indicated by recent versions of autoconf/make please use a sub-directory for M4 scripts.
The attached patch makes the necessary changes for this.

    BTW you'll need to add the m4 sub-directory by hand. It is not included in the patch.

    The patch seems to be implemented in TSK 3.2.1 thanks for that.
