This is always the hardest thing to move forward on, since it also tends to be the least glamorous aspect ... but, sadly, its also the most important ... IMHO, my biggest hurdle isn't with getting it installed, but with actually doing stuff with it after it is installed ... Easiest first step ... go through existing docs and switch slashcode -> haxlash ... harder is going to go through stuff like the slashguide and update things to reflect the 'true world' ... as an example (and, of course, I can't find teh URL now), there is a section of the docs taht deals with setting up 'blocks', where several fields that exist in the current code arent' even talked aboutin the docs ... And for this, we are going to need help from everyone ... if someone appears to be missing documentation wise, point it out ... or you know something *about* a missing piece, speak up :) ---- Marc G. It kinda got put on hold, but I was workign on building a perl 5.12 VPS that I could use fo testing things out on ... I want to make sure that we're dealing with a perl issue (which I suspect) and not an OSissue .... My schedule is pretty clear tonight, so let me play with it and see what I can do ... ---- Marc G. One thing that would be useful in the documentation is how to install Slashcode, with the assumption that the person has never used Perl and is not familiar on how to install all the necessary dependencies. Listing the known issues would also be useful. On 1-Mar-2011, at 12:38, Marc G. With the new code repo that is setup, all *known* issues have been worked out with the install, at least as far as FreeBSD is concerned ,,, www.haxlash.org right now is running "out of the box" ... I am currently looking into verifying that Perl 5.12.x works, as apparently CentOS has that installed by default, but, again, on FreeBSD, *so far*, all appears to be installing fine, where George is having issues with the ParallelUA perl module ... More feedback / bug reports always welcome though ... > > On 1-Mar-2011, at 12:38, Marc G.
