Cliff Lampe has been doing some research work at UofM and using
Slashdot data for much of it. His work has actually produced several
interesting ideas that will eventually be used in our moderation
As part of his next round of research, he wants to take surveys from
random samplings of users. The surveys would be simple multiple
choice, but we'd like them to run on Slashdot so that the user can't
lie about their user account, and so we could log things like karma as
part of their survey results and know it to be accurate.
If any of you is willing to work on a module to accomplish this, the
university might even have some cash to throw at a good programmer.
I'm really looking to get someone familiar with Slash to do this. If
you're interested in the project, email me directly.
