I've tried everything I can think of, but I don't see how to get Slash to access a database on another machine. I am not all that familiar with Perl or MySQL, but I'm familiar with coding, databases, and system configurations - so, you'd think I could figure it out by reading documentation, the Web, and so on. But no luck. In the Slashcode book (the O'Reilly book), it says that Slash will work with remote databases but gives no clue how to do this. I've read through the Slashcode and MySQL documentation and have tried Google searches, but no luck. Would someone mind giving me a starting point for figuring out how to configure either Slash to use a database on another node in the local network or a local MySQL instance to forward queries to the mysqld on another node? It can't be all that hard, right? I'll probably kick myself when someone tells me how to do it. Thanks, Roy |
