Scoop has some cool features, particularly that of user-
moderation on incoming stories. I'd really like to see
such a mechanism put in place. I may even work on such a
thing, but would like to hear some advice on what the
right approach would be to allow such a plugin to
maintain Slashcode's priorities/style. I don't fully
understand what the principles are for database usage/
static page generation etc.

In other words, if I came up with a plugin that used the
database all over the place, would that wreak havoc? Or
is it no big deal? What modifications to the current
system, if any, would be necessary to integrate user-
moderated stories into the author-approved stream? (Can
I just add new code, or does current code have to be
changed as well?)

Would it make sense to first try to implement this as a
separate section of user-moderated stories?

    This is a great module for someone to implement. However
    I have no interest for it on Slashdot. If someone wants
    to implement it and submit a plug-in, more power to them.
