Was on Slashdot on 3/6/02 trying to chnage a users
email address by going to
http://slashdot.org/~username/ clicking on "Edit User"
and changed the users email as requested. User emailed
1 hour after I changed his address and complained
saying that it haden't been changed. I Checked the
user information (again by clicking on edit user) and
the email address still hadn't been changed. I
repeated this task a few times, and it wouldn't
update. I also asked Cliff to try it to make sure I
wasn't doing something wrong, he got the same results,
wouldn't update.

We changed the seclev required to edit users; it was too low.
We should increase the seclev of the various Slashdot
authors/admins who need to edit users.

Yes. It turned out it was a seclev problem, as I
was able to edit the user just fine once I upped mine.
I think what is necessary in this case is just better
feedback from the system in the case of an insufficient
seclev. This is something we can do, over time, as we
notice them. I can start with admin.pl if this is something
    we want to do.
