If the path to source or pdf file contains an umlaut forward search does not work.

Steps to reproduce:

Create directory with umlaut (example "Lösung")
Create tex file
Compile with "pdflatex --synctex=1"
Forward search from either editor or displayline

Actual Results

File is opened but line neither highlighted nor shown with red dot

Expected Results

Red dot should appear on the line that was given to displayline

Configuration

Skim 1.4.2 (76)
Mac OS X 10.8.2
SyncTeX 1.15

Additional Information

resulting synctex file is encoded with utf-8

  • Sorry, unfortunately AppleScript on 10.8 does not support passing non-ASCII characters. It's a bad idea to use them in latex file names anyway.

  • Apparently it was not only the AppleScript, that apparently has been fixed. Rather the synctex file was not encoded according to the file system encoding, but (at least for me) as UTF8. Should be fixed for the next release, at least for me.
