Hi Malinda, Thank you for trying out the Wijesekera layout. I'm using Kubuntu. So I won't be able to give instructions that are 100% accurate. 1. First install SCIM. Instructions are at http://www.scim-im.org/wiki/documentation/installation_and_configuration/fedora_core 1.1 Note If you have KDE, you need skim. 2. Install another language engine (I installed scim-canna - a Japanese one) to make sure that SCIM works. Once you get the Japanese engine working, continue the following step. 3. Download the Wijesekera source file: http://sinhala.sourceforge.net/files/scim-wijesekera-0.3.1.tar.gz. 4. Extract the contents using: tar -xvzf scim-wijesekera-0.3.1.tar.gz 5. Enter cd scim-wijesekera-0.3.1 6. Execute the script ./autogen.sh 6.1 Make sure all the commands used in this script are available in your system (If not please install the required packages) 7. Run ./configure 7.1 This step may also indicate any missing packages... 8. Run make install. You need to root. If there are any problems, please let me know. දුෂාර <http://sinhala.sourceforge.net/files/scim-wijesekera-0.3.1.tar.gz> On 06/04/2008, Malinda Siriwardana <mal...@ya...> wrote: > > hi! > > Please send me a detailed installation instuction on > frdora 8 and also how to invoke type and everty thing. > > later if you permit this document can be used to teach > the input method. > > thanks, > > > malinda > > > > > ____________________________________________________________________________________ > You rock.
