Hi,

Has anybody got IIIMF going? I'm thinking of writing a sinhala language engine for it (I don't think there's one yet, correct me if I'm wrong).

I'm facing a few hurdles getting the environment going. My development environment is Kubuntu Feisty. Below is a copy of an email I sent to one of the guys involved in building the package...

I've installed a couple of language engines and everything except the emacs related stuff. Nevertheless I have difficulty getting it going in my system.

I've cut and pasted the symptoms of my problem:

1) iiimf demon is running:

~$ ps ax | grep iiim
 4900 ?        S      0:00 /usr/bin/iiimd -port 9010
 7646 pts/1    R+     0:00 grep iiim

2) I've set XMODIFIERS as thus:
~$ echo $XMODIFIERS
@im=htt

3) And LANG is:
~$ echo $LANG
ja_JP.UTF-8

4) However, running an app yields the following:

:~$ kate
X Error: BadDevice, invalid or uninitialized input device 169
  Major opcode:  145
  Minor opcode:  3
  Resource id:  0x0
Failed to open device
X Error: BadDevice, invalid or uninitialized input device 169

The language engine doesn't appear to have been loaded.

If anyone has any experience with IIIMF, please let me know.
