Buggy behavior: When I put the cursor after the first character of the first item in an unnumbered list, and press backspace, then not only is the character deleted, but also the bullet of the list item.

The same is true of numbered list.

A related, unserious, odd behavior is that when the first character of a table cell is deleted using backspace, the cursor moves to the cell at the left, surprisingly.

The issue has indeed been largely solved. There are however at least two problematic cases remaining:

Case 1: Create a list, numbered or unnumbered, with only one item, and that item containing only one character, say "A". Position the cursor after that character. Press backspace. The list disappears.

Case 2: Create a list, numbered or unnumbered, with only one item, and that item containing only one character, say "A". Position the cursor before that character. Press delete. The list disappears.
