One possibility is a compiler optimization issue. Try building a sid-check without any optimization: add the line define(`confOPTIMIZE',`-g') to devtools/Site/site.config.m4, then "rm -r" the obj.whatever directory and run "sh Build" again. Also, do you define any FFRs in devtools/Site/site.config.m4 ? -- Dick St.Peters, stpeters@NetHeaven.com |

Yes, I've done all that without any better results... sid-check still gives me: spf=3DFail (NotPermitted) pra=3DFail (NotPermitted) I will fix some "v=3Dspf1 ptr:..." records to see if i find anything = intresting. /P |

> I will fix some "v=3Dspf1 ptr:..." records to see if i find anything = intresting. I have configured up a new domain called testmail.se. It has 3 ip-addresses: testmail.se [192.36.28.140] testmachine.testmail.se [192.36.28.141] a.long.name.testmail.se [192.36.28.142] Reverse records are also installed accordingly. The SPF data for testmail.se looks like "v=3Dspf1 ptr:testmail.se -all" And sid-check (newly compiled with plain config),=20 fails for all those IP's :-( /P |

I did a fresh build this morning too, with a config defining nothing but NH_UTILITY. This is a long shot: in sid-filter patched with the utility patch, line 1031 reads "n--;". After it, add a line reading "m--;". I'm pretty sure that decrement must have been in some earlier version of Murray's code, because without it saving the length code in "m" rather than simply skipping the code makes no sense. Losing that decrement caused the split record problem. It could conceivably cause other, nameserver-dependent problems. However, we're chasing ghosts here, but ghosts are all we have. -- Dick St.Peters, stpeters@NetHeaven.com |

I've also tried building sid-check without libar. Even thought i didn't have any compiler warnings, i doesn't function = very well: # sid-check -v 192.36.28.140 us...@te... sid-check for sid-milter version 0.2.9 sm_marid_check_host_frame: ip=3D<192.36.28.140>, domain=3D<testmail.se>, = sender=3D<us...@te...> depth=3D[-1] Bus Error (core dumped) You can use any option/ip/sender. It never works. /P |

I tried this, and my sid-check built without libar acts like yours built with libar: saint# ./sid-check -v 192.36.28.142 te...@te... sid-check for sid-milter version 0.2.9 sm_marid_check_host_frame: ip=<192.36.28.142>, domain=<testmail.se>, sender=<te...@te...> depth=[-1] Trying: <v=spf1 ptr:testmail.se -all> spf=Fail (NotPermitted) sm_marid_check_host_frame: ip=<192.36.28.142>, domain=<testmail.se>, sender=<te...@te...> depth=[-1] Trying: <v=spf1 ptr:testmail.se -all> pra=Fail (NotPermitted) This at least means there's a problem I can make happen, so I can try chasing it down. It won't be today though. I do have some real work to get back to. -- Dick St.Peters, stpeters@NetHeaven.com |
