David, you go too far, now you have to explain to everyone on what you are working on :p Jean On Thu, Jan 21, 2010 at 11:11 PM, Gerhard Lausser <Ger...@co...> wrote: > >> pour ma part l'interface avance bien. > une interface? est-ce que j'ai ratté quelque-chose? > curieux, > Gerhard > > > ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ > Throughout its 18-year history, RSA Conference consistently attracts the > world's best and brightest in the field, creating opportunities for Conference > attendees to learn about information security's most important issues through > interactions with peers, luminaries and emerging and established companies. > http://p.sf.net/sfu/rsaconf-dev2dev > _______________________________________________ > Shinken-devel mailing list > Shi...@li... > https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/shinken-devel > |

ok jean, not a big deal saying that i'm curently working on a totaly new nagios web ui. in fact i'm writing kind of a framework to build this interface and we were thinking with jean that it would be very cool to make it compatible with shinken "out of the box". we will show alpha version at Solution Linux 2010 in France. Hi David, i am currently also writing a nagios web ui. But not a new one. I like the nagios cgis, they are just a bit uncomfortable in large installations. So what i am currently doing is rebulding the original cgis on perl/catalyst basis with livestatus connection. Most of it already works, i am currently finishing the reports. When reached 100% feature comtability with the original cgis, i will begin to add features for large installations. I liked the simple HTML of the original cgis, so i didn't want to build another web 2.0 interface which looks good, but nobody wants to work with. Maybe i will change the css a bit, but i plan this as a drop in replacement for the nagios gui. When shinken supports livestatus, it should work with shinken as well, currently i can only use nagios and icinga. What kind of ui are you writing? In nagios, status from services, hosts, etc are read from status.dat, am I wrong ? So status.cgi is very slow for large structure. Can we have some details about your implementation ? -- Sylvain |

> In nagios, status from services, hosts, etc are read from status.dat, > am I wrong ? So status.cgi is very slow for large structure. in nagios, yes all data are read from status.dat. But in my own case i use livestatus (livestatus is a neb module that listen for queries on a unix socket. so no io at all is done in memory). There are now 2 officials api for livestatus (one in python and one in perl). And may be another one (unofficial) in php that i've just finished writting the code. I've tried getting 50.000+ services with livestatus and it took less than 2 seconds to get them writted to a text file ! well in fact i do not think it will be displayed on a web page in less than 2seconds but it will be much more faster than the current cgi implementations. The code will be published really soon on a public git repository (i think at http://www.nagios-fr.org). Don't forget that this is the shinken ml. And my goal is to make the code also compatible with shinken. regards David ----- Mail Original ----- De: "Sylvain Collilieux" <Sylvain@Collilieux.net> À: shi...@li...
