Hello, I'm using Evo 2.12 with Ubuntu 7.10 along with a Windows XP Partion in a dual boot set up. I was wondering if I could share my Evolution data files (emails, calendars, contacts) with another instalation of Evo in Windows XP. I downloaded Evo for Win XP and would like to share my emails with both partitions. Any help will be appreciated. Jezze |

Gentlemen, I am a newbie and would like to start evolution 2.8.2-2 on a win XP SP2 = completely updated till yesterday. The installation mentioned no problems. Starting Evolution(E) gave me = the info that the win and evolution configurations didn't match. I tried = to solve this by making the changes into the = bonobo-activation-config.xml. and followed the instructions by killing = the bonobo-activation-servers and restarted E again. Same problem. = Anyway what do you mean with $prefix ? The same I find when editing the = problem in the FAQ section where an alternative solution was suggested. = And how do I export = BONOBO_ACTIVATION_PATH=3D<your-build-prefix>/lib/bonobo/servers ? and = again where do I find the build-prefix ?=20 I have MSVCR71.DLL installed in windows/system32 (I find this in one of = the answers in the forum) I apologize I have to put these for you simple questions but for me = essential to be answered ? Many thanks in advance for a answer by return Tony |

I have a machine with XP and OpenSuse 10.2. I installed this on the Suse s= ide and it works fine. I tried to install the windows version 2.8.2 a few = times but somethings just not right. Hi, I'm trying to use evolution for windows with exchange server, I'm entering the OWA URL (https://mycompany.com/exchange) but getting the error: Could not connect to server. Make sure the URL is correct and try again What could be the problem? could it be that evolution (or evolution for windows) doesn't support https? I'm not subscribed to the mailing list, so please replay to me as well. Best regards, Oded Maimon. |

Hello everybody! I'm trying to compile and install Evolution und windows with the aim to get a Version of Evolution-Scalix which run's under Windows. I've already gone the hard and rocky way to ./configure and make evolution and it's dependencies and now I simply trying to get through the make install, but I'm going to get always the following Error Message. I'm not sure what causes it, but I've noticed that the libetext-0.dll which is listed in the libetext.la isn't compiled by the make. Thanks for your time and please give some feedback [ ... bunch of output ... ] Making install in text make[2]: Entering directory `/devel/shellter/evolution-2.8.2-1-source/evolution- Hi I've just installed Evolution 2.8.2 on my Windows XP system. Thanks very much to Tor and Marcos for getting Evolution working! When I drag and drop a message from one IMAP folder to another, it defaults to copy (cursor has a plus sign) rather than move (cursor has no plus sign). Most other mail clients default to move, and I think Evolution on Gnome+Linux does as well. I'm using GTK 2.10.7a from the Pidgin (formerly Gaim) installer. Hope someone knows how to fix it! Thanks Mike |

Hi, I'm trying to configure an IMAP account on Evolution 2.8.1 (Fedora Core 4) but it's not being possible because it always adds the *name of e-mail*server to the *username* in order to get the e-mail account and that's not my case. I've got an e-email account ex...@sa... on a server named * mail.uminho.pt* with a username *f9999* . The authentication type is by password and when the authentication screen appear it asks the password for f9...@ma... instead of f9...@um... , because evolution created automatically (username + server name). How can I overcome this problem? Thanks in advance. Best regards, Telma Silva |

Cool ok mark, I will try compiling a build using the noobie method on the novell wiki. If no one logs the closing error bug for Win32 I'll do it. I haven't been able to find it (maybe I'm not using the right terms in the search), but has anyone filed a bug about Evolution freezing? I don't recall EVER having that problem in Linux, but both of the Windows versions I've tried have the same problem - you load it up and start it downloading mail, and it freezes. If you're lucky, it unfreezes when it's done downloading. Then, you click on a message and it freezes. If you're lucky, it unfreezes after 5 to 10 minutes. Then you try sending a message, and once again, it freezes. If you're lucky, it delivers the email and unfreezes. If you're not lucky, it stays frozen permanently and you have to use your task manager to kill the process. By "freezes", I mean, it stops responding, and when you mouse over its window, you get the "program busy" hourglass. The freezing problem is bad enough that I had to give it up and go back to Tbird, but I do prefer Evolution (or, at least, I did when I was running it in Gnome). -- "Arms in the hands of citizens may be used at individual discretion in private self defense." i used to use nsis and had setup.exe files and everyone and their mother threw a fit because they couldnt use them to deliver them to all of their desktops at once like they can with msi. so now we have to deal with msi, which is a pain in many different levels. i'll get this fixed soon. really. trust me On 3/20/07, Xavier Conde Rueda <xav...@gm...> wrote: > Hi Mark, > > Just a little question about your installer. Hi Mark, Just a little question about your installer. Beside copying files and creating menus, does it does something more (i.e registering a component)? If you can't fix the language issue, I still could manage to create an NSIS installer for it. Thanks and good luck! 2007/3/20, Mark Pinto <mar...@gm...>: > yes, you can post just about all bugs to gnome's bugzilla, as long as > you're careful to specifically make it as a win32 bug and that it's > not something obviously-not-evolution-related, like my installer not > autodetecting your system language and using that to show you the > installations steps. > unfortunately i cant sit down and type up a step by step for just > about anything right now. i'm working like a dog trying to open my > own business...and if any of you have done that before, you know how > crazy it is. i love open source and *will* continue to work on things > once my life calms down a bit, but for now i'm afraid i have to take a > hopefully very short break from things. i havent even been able to > keep up on emails from mother, which is never a good thing ;) i'll be > around > > On 3/18/07, Matt Carter <mat...@gm...> wrote: > > Ok guys, I am getting really motivated bout evolution on windows now! > > > > Can we post ALL bugs on the gnome bugzilla as well as SF.net: > > > > http://bugzilla.gnome.org/ > > > > Some of these bugs may actually relate to the Win32 binaries and not > > Marks compilation. > > > > Mark is there any chance I can get step by step off you for the > > compilation of Evolution on windows, will try and help out as much as I can. > > > > Everyone wants a Win32 build that works, well we really need a testing > > community and some programmers (I can program, I'm just not overly gr8 > > at things on this scale). > > > > Also it might be aswell joining the official Gnome/Evolution mailing > > lists, try and bug some people to help us out. > > > > Let me know what you all think? > > > > Matt > > > > Mark Pinto wrote: > > > i'm honestly scratching my head on this one. i need some programmer > > > to step up and help. anyone care to send me a patch for this one? > > > :-) > > > > > > On 3/9/07, Matt Carter <mat...@gm...> wrote: > > >> Cool, well it still works as a english installer, tried n tested lol, > > >> got bored so downloaded n installed it. > > >> > > >> Is there anything I can do to assist with the debug of the closing bug? > > >> > > >> Matt > > >> > > >> Mark Pinto wrote: > > >> > international support. hopefully, anyway. i've yet to hear back from > > >> > our foreign users regarding whether or not non-english support in the > > >> > installer is working > > >> > > > >> > On 3/9/07, Matt Carter <mat...@gm...> wrote: > > >> >> Any differences between 2.8.2-1 and 2.8.2-2? > > >> >> > > >> >> Matt > > >> >> > > >> >> Xavier Conde Rueda wrote: > > >> >> > Me too. > > >> >> > > > >> >> > 2007/3/8, Matt Carter <mat...@gm...>: > > >> >> >> Has anyone else received this error message when closing evolution > > >> >> on XP > > >> >> >> SP2, I have no idea how to debug this lol. > > >> >> >> > > >> >> >> Matt > > >> >> >> > > >> >> >> > > >> >> > > >> ------------------------------------------------------------------------- > > >> >> >> Take Surveys. yes, you can post just about all bugs to gnome's bugzilla, as long as you're careful to specifically make it as a win32 bug and that it's not something obviously-not-evolution-related, like my installer not autodetecting your system language and using that to show you the installations steps. unfortunately i cant sit down and type up a step by step for just about anything right now. i'm working like a dog trying to open my own business...and if any of you have done that before, you know how crazy it is. i love open source and *will* continue to work on things once my life calms down a bit, but for now i'm afraid i have to take a hopefully very short break from things. i havent even been able to keep up on emails from mother, which is never a good thing ;) i'll be around On 3/18/07, Matt Carter <mat...@gm...> wrote: > Ok guys, I am getting really motivated bout evolution on windows now! > > Can we post ALL bugs on the gnome bugzilla as well as SF.net: > > http://bugzilla.gnome.org/ > > Some of these bugs may actually relate to the Win32 binaries and not > Marks compilation. > > Mark is there any chance I can get step by step off you for the > compilation of Evolution on windows, will try and help out as much as I can. > > Everyone wants a Win32 build that works, well we really need a testing > community and some programmers (I can program, I'm just not overly gr8 > at things on this scale). > > Also it might be aswell joining the official Gnome/Evolution mailing > lists, try and bug some people to help us out. > > Let me know what you all think? > > Matt > > Mark Pinto wrote: > > i'm honestly scratching my head on this one. i need some programmer > > to step up and help. anyone care to send me a patch for this one? > > :-) > > > > On 3/9/07, Matt Carter <mat...@gm...> wrote: > >> Cool, well it still works as a english installer, tried n tested lol, > >> got bored so downloaded n installed it. > >> > >> Is there anything I can do to assist with the debug of the closing bug? > >> > >> Matt > >> > >> Mark Pinto wrote: > >> > international support. hopefully, anyway. i've yet to hear back from > >> > our foreign users regarding whether or not non-english support in the > >> > installer is working > >> > > >> > On 3/9/07, Matt Carter <mat...@gm...> wrote: > >> >> Any differences between 2.8.2-1 and 2.8.2-2? > >> >> > >> >> Matt > >> >> > >> >> Xavier Conde Rueda wrote: > >> >> > Me too. > >> >> > > >> >> > 2007/3/8, Matt Carter <mat...@gm...>: > >> >> >> Has anyone else received this error message when closing evolution > >> >> on XP > >> >> >> SP2, I have no idea how to debug this lol. > >> >> >> > >> >> >> Matt > >> >> >> > >> >> >> > >> >> > >> ------------------------------------------------------------------------- > >> >> >> Take Surveys. Ok guys, I am getting really motivated bout evolution on windows now! Can we post ALL bugs on the gnome bugzilla as well as SF.net: http://bugzilla.gnome.org/ Some of these bugs may actually relate to the Win32 binaries and not Marks compilation. Mark is there any chance I can get step by step off you for the compilation of Evolution on windows, will try and help out as much as I can. Everyone wants a Win32 build that works, well we really need a testing community and some programmers (I can program, I'm just not overly gr8 at things on this scale). Also it might be aswell joining the official Gnome/Evolution mailing lists, try and bug some people to help us out. Let me know what you all think? Well there is me out, I stopped doing desktop programming a few years ago lol, even then I was only good an hashing mush together. Wonder if we can report it to the evolution development team to see if they have any clues?
