  • Why did you downloaded the Sources release and not the Update release? It is
intended for people to compile themself.

    Can you try with ShellEd-Update-2.0.0_M3.zip?

    hello !

I've a problem with the plugin ! I'm working with eclipse Helios and i've
tried to install ShellEd 2.0.0 Milestone 3 by hand, coping the files to
eclipse/plugins and eclipse/features, then I restarted Eclipse but it seems
that it doesn't work because I've checked the file associations by navigating
to Window -> Preferences -> General -> Editors -> File Associations

There are no files with shell script extensions (.sh, .csh, .ksh, .zsh,
    *.bash, etc).

what is the problem I really don't see

    thanks or your help

  • Do you have

  • Do you have dltk 2.0 installed?

Is shelled shown in installed plugins?

That's odd; I just clicked the green download button on the main SF page
yesterday afternoon and got the source package. I tried just now and got the
compiled package. In any case, I do have the Helios update site enabled.

When installing from the unzipped ShellEd-Update-2.0.0_M3.zip, I get the
    following:

Cannot complete the install because one or more required items could not be
    found.

    Software being installed: ShellEd 2.0.0.201007201532-1--773533H735D97
    (net.sourceforge.shelled.feature.group 2.0.0.201007201532-1--773533H735D97)

    Missing requirement: ShellEd Core 0.0.0.201007201532
    (net.sourceforge.shelled.core 0.0.0.201007201532) requires 'bundle
org.eclipse.dltk.core [2.0.0,3.0.0)' but it could not be found

    Cannot satisfy dependency:

Do I need to install the Eclipse DLTK?

I see from your earlier reply that the DLTK is apparently required. Just the
    Core Frameworks package?

  • Should be enough

I installed the DLTK Core Frameworks and H2 stuff, then Linux Tools, then it
worked. Thanks for your replies, I love the plugin!

  • Feel free to edit the wiki install page with the info you would find useful if
you're going to install it for the first time. We really need this to be done
by users because if you're developing some plugin you're reallly missing some
problems that users can have thanks to missing dependencies.

No ShellEd is not in the list of the installed plug-ins . Usually I install
all the plug-ins manually and it works .

    What's the problem ?

    hi,

Well it works if you have all the dependencies installed. Please make sure
that you have dltk 2.0 and Linux tools man page

    viewer installed http://eclipse.org/linuxtools/projectPages/manpage/

i've Helios installed, as well as DLTK 2.0 & LinuxTools man page viewer. And,
"Shelled Core" & "Shelled UI" are both currently shown as installed PlugIns.

Still, at attempt to update, i get:

    "No repository found at http://akurtakov.fedorapeople.org/shelled/"

It works for me. I'm using ShellEd-Update-2.0.0_M3.zip with Eclipse Helios. I
only installed Linux tools (the whole project).

Since the repositories on the wiki didn't seen to work I installed the on from
the fedora repository. It installed the dependencies for me.

It works for me after installing linux tools, dltk and man viewer which didn't
come with my linux tools that was in my default eclipse list.

    Thanks

  • Where can you get the Linux Man Viewer since its not a part of LinuxTools any
longer, I've tried downloading 0.3 archive, but I can't find any older
    versions.

  • It is part of Linux Tools. But you have to use Linux Tools update site

    http://download.eclipse.org/technology/linuxtools/update/

We did not considered it stable enough to include it on Helios update site but
it is definitely part of Linux Tools.

I can't install 2.0.0_M3 on Eclipse Helios SR2 (Windows XP)

I've installed Man from LinuxTools and Core Framoworks from Dynamic Languages

  • You have installed dltk 3.0 but shelled works with dltk 2.0 only.

I use Indigo now, after manually installing dltk 2.0 the ShellEd install and
    works well.

    Thanks developer of this script.

Problem is, some plugins are using the modern DLTK, like PDT. I'd like to have
shellEd AND PDT, but since it only supports an outdate DLTK, I can only have
PDT installed, as I use this much more often than shellEd.

    It's an unfortunate situation.

  • You know that ShellEd 2.0.0 is released and it works with Indigo and DLTK 3.0.

If someone wants to use it on Helios use M3 if someone wants to use it on
    Indigo use 2.0 final release.
